Marion Brecheen

Marion A. Brecheen, 76, of Colt departed this life Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Memphis. He was born to Rosie and Alex Brecheen on May 31, 1941 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: David and Robert, and two daughters: Deniece and Angel. Marion was a hard-working man. Marion is a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Wynne. He graduated from Harrisburg High School, worked as a heavy equipment operator, and served his country in the Arkansas National Guard. After his retirement he spent many hours working with his cattle, fishing, and hunting. Marion received his Mason degree from Tina Lodge #577 in Concord, Arkansas and there he served as the past Master. He transferred from Tina Lodge to Bell Lodge #322 before coming to the Poinsett Lodge #184 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. He was seriously injured in an auto accident and fought hard to survive. After his recovery he learned to play as hard as he worked. He loved to dance and any time there was music and a pretty lady you would see him on the dance floor. He is survived by three daughters: Mary Dorothy and husband Henry Robertson of Oil Trough, Arkansas, Brenda Brecheen of Lockport, Illinois, and Margaret and husband Mario Guerrero of Elsa, Texas, two brothers: Alex ”Bill” and wife Earlene Brecheen of Clinton, Arkansas and Jerrel Wayne Brecheen of Wynne, Arkansas, three sisters: Betty Gray of Oak Grove, Arkansas, Thelma Long of Palestine, Arkansas, and Wilma and husband Bob Smith of Drasco, Arkansas, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren, and a special friend, Marie Andrews. Visitation is Friday, December 8, 2017 from 1:00 until service time at 2:00. Interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
